Hot Dog Chili Recipe
If you're like me, a hot dog just isn't a hot dog
without, mustard, chili, and onions. Hot dog chili should be
just thick enough to sit on top of the hot dog without making a
runny mess. It should also not be too chunky or lumpy so that
it can't be spread evenly on a hot dog.
People have been asking for quite some time now
for a hot dog chili recipe, and I've found one that a friend of my
grandmother uses with a lot of success. Here is the recipe and
when I find any other hot dog recipes I'll be sure to post them
here.
Hot Dog Chili Recipe Ingredients
• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 cup of beef broth
• 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
• 1 Tablespoon chili powder
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan and
bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer until
ground beef is thoroughly cooked. The fat will rise to the top
and can be skimmed off during the cooking process.
Once cooked, I use a handheld mixer/chopper to
make the hot dog chili a finer consistency.
