Fond Chili Memories

May. 31st 2012

I just happened to celebrate one of those milestone birthdays this week, and it has sent me into a reflective kind of mood. This mood most definitely prompted this post. I began thinking about each chili recipe I’ve posted on this site and came to realize that each recipe has its own special memory associated with it. The Halftime Chili recipe has always been a favorite during football season at my house, and it constantly reminds me of all the friends that come over during football season to watch games with us. It really makes me smile. :)

All of my friends have their own way of making me smile. Each one is special to me and each one has his or her own tastes when it comes to my chili. I have one friend that taught me the art of serving chili over pasta and another friend that prefers only vegetarian chili. My friends and my life make all of these recipes spectacular to me, and it is my goal to share some of this happiness with you. If just one of our recipes gives you a smile or a new favorite memory associated with it, then I have done my job.

Do you have a happy memory or moment that you would like to share? If you do, feel free to shoot me an email

Speaking of special memories, check out this awesome postcard a friend of mine sent me for my birthday! She’s on vacation and took the time to send me a postcard that I absolutely love!

Jambalaya Recipe

Jul. 20th 2009

If you’re looking for something new to try tonight, check out our new jambalaya recipe. Jambalaya is similar to chili, but it has rice in it. It’s a hearty meat dish just like our chilis. If you prefer, you can slim it down a bit by switching out the meats for seafood. We would love to hear what you think of it!
